Sitges

San Sebastian beach pictured here is one of the 11 beaches in the charming white-washed village of Sitges. With a year 'round population of only 26,000 inhabitants, Sitges offers many nearby attractions.  Among them is the metropolis of Barcelona, the Roman city of Tarragona, Montserrat Monastery, the Costa Brava, Valencia and many more, reached by excellent motorways and commuter trains within 1 to 3 hours.

Sitges offers a wealth of year 'round activities only 30 minutes south of Barcelona Centre

Sitges has a year 'round population of just 26,000 and has been a heaven for European artists and visitors for many generations. Today Sitges enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a friendly, tolerant village where English is widely spoken.

Eleven safe, sandy beaches and coves are carefully controlled to maintain their safety and appeal. Sitges has an 18-hole golf course, day and night tennis courts, horseback riding, and one of the best marinas in the Mediterranean, only minutes from Las Palomas Catalanas.

In the evenings, Sitges comes alive with quiet cocktail lounges, dozens of discos, and literally hundreds of sidewalk cafes and indoor and outdoor restaurants.

Water in Sitges and throughout Catalonia may be consumed safely so guests may enjoy dining, whether in one of the local restaurants or cooking at Las Palomas Catalanas' fully-equipped kitchens.

Guests of Las Palomas Catalanas have the luxury of partaking in Sitges' array of activities or just kicking-back in an idyllic setting where guests feel right at home. No wonder they call it "The Spanish Camelot."

Note: The beautiful soft-sand Balmins Beach facing Las Palomas Catalanas, as most beaches in Spain, offers top-less bathing. Depending on the season, Balmins Beach is bathing-suit-optional. During July and August bathing-suit-optional is mostly found at the far side of the beach out of respect to families.
